Aubrey Gabel in “Queer Game Studies” asks “Often when we discuss “queer games,” the word we are debating the most is “queer.” What does it mean to be “queer” and to whom?”. Date or Be explores what it means to be queer as it is a game about someone trying to figure out their sexuality as they feel like they don’t fit into any of the categories. Does it even matter if they are Queer or not? It won’t change anything but is it okay not to know? To find out, they end up in a lucid dream with an app called "Date or Be".
